50 years ago, members of Rotary Club of Hubli who were interested in the field of education came together and requested the president of the club to promote a society which would take up the work of improving the standard of education with English as the medium of instruction. This was done with the intention of enabling local students to compete in the all India examinations and also perform well globally.
In those days, institutions only run by a certain religious organization had English as the medium of instruction which prevented majority of the students the opportunity to have access to learn in English. Having no land or building of their own, the Rotarians started their primary classes in a rented place. Soon they were successful in obtaining a small piece of land in a central residential area in Hubli and constructed 5 classrooms like military barracks. His Excellency, Governor of Karnataka Shri Govind Narayana, ICS and Shri S. L Kirloskar inaugurated the same. From then on, the demand for admissions increased which led to the addition of modern RCC rooms as recommended by the education authority .
This project of the Rotary Club, no larger than a drop of dew, have produced such a galaxy of versatile and eminent individuals, who judged by National and international standards can hold their own with the best in the world. The individual 'Genius' of many a student of rotary has left a mark in almost every field of activity.
